As an Elevator Mechanic Apprenticeship, you will be learning about different types of Elevators & Escalators. The company you are hired with can place you into one of the three different departments, or some companies have one department that does all, New Installation, Modernization, and Service/Repair. The Apprenticeship is a 4-year program that teaches you about the work you will be performing while you are hands-on learning the field.1 day out of the week for four hours, after work, you attend a class. The role of an Apprentice is that you will be preparing materials and parts for your Mechanic so that when it is time to install, they are ready. You will assist and aid the Mechanic with rigging, hoisting, installing, cleaning, and fabricating what you will be installing.
